steady?

last night uncle peh is cute.
he was having his late maggie mee supper and he was asking me;

uncle peh:"are you going steady with ben?"

me: *showed a clueless face*

uncle peh:"are you?"

me: "i thought i bought him back home?"

uncle peh: "steady with him or not steady?"

me: "what is steady?!, he is my bf already what."

uncle peh: "steady means settle down, else not steady."

me: *stunned* *thinking.. what is BF and GF to uncle peh then?* together la, still got what steady. *showed a pissed face*

uncle peh: "settle down?"

me: *keep quiet*

cause i duno how to tell him.
first, i bought my BF back home ley, not boy friend, but my BOYFRIEND,
secondly, i thought steady means not serious one.. i duno how many of u all heard boys, (esp ah-beng school boys) said, "eh.. Stead with me ley" or "be my stead" -.-" and i felt that if i dun want to settle down, why will i get myself a Boyfriend AKA Stead?!
yes in the past, he did saw those guys, but its like.. many many years back?!
being involved in a relationship doesn't need to tie a knot at the end of the day,
i know what i want, and i want ben.
ben and i sometimes did casually talk about wedding and future stuff, this is to ensure that we are having the same frequency about the future. its hard to say but to me, i always belive,
Why start if u know its going to end? =)

i told uncle peh that ben and i just got together, he asked how i know ben. i dun even want to tell him, later he might have a heart attack.
sometimes parents are able to know whats going ard, but they can't keep up with the time.
